In Memory of
Sally

We got Sally as a puppy in 1989.
Her mother was a dog I rescued from the pound when I was a teenager.I named her "Dog". When I got married my parents would not let me have "Dog". She was a very smart dog and protected the house very well. Later on, she had puppies and I got one of the puppies. I named her Sally. My wife and I would walk her every day. We spent a lot of time with her. She proved to be every bit as smart as her mother was. She was very protective and gaurded our house very well. She would ride with me every where I went in the truck. But not in the back, She rode up front. She would sit between me and Barbara very proudly. When she got tired of sitting, she would lay down and lay her head in my lap.
She got to sleep inside at night, and never made a mess. We would lay an old sheet down and she would lay there until the next morning. Then we would let her out for the day. She did roam, but never disturbed any of the neighbors. One morning we let her out and she didn't come home. We called her, looked for her, and checked with neighbors. She could not be found. I new it was bad, She never failed to come when I called. She could be deep in the woods, and when I called, she would come runing as hard as she could. Some times it would take several minutes, but she never failed to come, until this one day. We later found out she fell to a gunshot from a deerhunter. I don't hold deerhunters responsible for her fate. Deer hunting is necessary to control the population of deer. But I do hold this one person responsible. She was causing no harm and I lost a dear friend, true compainion and the best dog I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I had her for over eight years and she has been gone for a few years now and I still miss her.
I dedicate this page in her memory.
I miss you Sally
